The Village of Palos Park Winter Charity Drive
December 1st, 2012- January 31st, 2013

The Village of Palos Park is holding a Winter Charity Drive from December 1st, 2012-January 31st, 2013. The Crisis Center for South Suburbia is a non-profit organization that provides emergency shelter and other essential services for individuals and families victimized by domestic violence. If you would like to provide an in-kind donation, please select items from the list below. Donations can be dropped off at the Village Hall lobby located at 8999 W. 123rd Street as well as the Recreation Center located at 8901 W. 123rd Street.

Items in immediate need for the shelter:

Women’s underwear (we’re completely out!) & socks, new hair brushes, tampons, Size 5 and 6 diapers (not pull ups), women’s fall/winter pajamas, baby head-to-toe wash, baby lotion, baby powder.

Items in immediate need for the transitional housing program:

Plungers, cleaning supplies, kitchen dish towels, baking sheets, cooking utensils, baking dishes, and pots & pans.

Items needed throughout the year:

Items for Women
New combs & brushes, ethnic hair care products, deodorant/anti-perspirant, razors & shaving cream, body washes & sprays, hand & body lotions, feminine hygiene products, socks, underwear, bras, pajamas, robes, slippers.

Baby Products
Disposable diapers (all sizes – not pull ups), baby wipes, baby wash (no shampoo), baby lotion (no oil), powder & diaper rash ointment, bottles & bottle cleaners, baby food (cereal, juice, vegetables, fruit), socks, slippers, onesies, sippy cups, toddler utensils.

Household & Paper Products
Tall kitchen & large black garbage bags, fabric softening sheets, food storage bags, lunch bags (zipper closure), facial tissue, paper towels & napkins, all-purpose household cleaners, dish soap, disposable dishware & utensils, 5 & 9 oz. plastic drinking cups.

Food Items
After school snacks (e.g. Goldfish crackers), canned fruit, nursery water & bottled drinking water, bottled & individually boxed 100% juices, baby items (cereal, juice, vegetables, fruit), powdered drink mixes, grocery store gift cards.
Linens, Etc.

Bath towels & washcloths, new pillows (standard size), pillow covers (plastic, zippered), twin sheet sets (x-long 36×80), twin blankets, crib sheets & baby blankets, dish towels.

Craft Items & School Supplies
Colored paper & construction paper, glitter & glitter sticks, bottle glue, child-size scissors, washable markers, colored pencils, backpacks, lunch boxes.
