DEPARTMENT
Administration Assistant I—Front Desk--Part time (16 hours per week)
Village of Palos Park, a progressive and
employee-friendly organization is seeking a motivated, energetic
individual with impeccable customer service skills with marketing
knowledge for a part-time Administrative Assistant.
(Thursday and Friday - 8 hours a day)
Position responsibilities:
• Assisting the public in
registering for programs and answering questions.
• Enter class registrations and facility reservations
into recreation software.
• Assist instructors with class information.
• Marketing of recreation programs including, but not
limited to, press releases, flyers, bulletin boards, and brochures.
• Preparation of payment authorizations with invoices.
• Office assistance, including, but not limited to,
answering phones, preparing letters and mailings, faxing,
photocopying, computer entry, filing and building support.
Computer skills a must, including
Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Publisher and a willingness to learn
other programs. High school diploma required with clerical experience.
$10-12/hr DOQ.

Education and Experience:
High School graduate or GED plus six months of experience in a clerical
field; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which
provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Must have strong
customer service skills and the ability to multi-task. Also, experience
using Microsoft Software (Word, Publisher, and Excel) and Outlook.
General Purpose:
Under the direction of the Recreation Director, assists in management of
recreation office, with emphasis on customer service.
Primary Job Responsibilities and Expectations (arranged in order of
importance):
• Assist public in registering for
programs and answering questions.
• Enter class registrations and facility reservations into
recreation software.
• Assist instructors with class information and printing rosters.
• Marketing of recreation programs including, but not limited to,
press releases, flyers, bulletin boards, and brochures.
• Preparation of payment authorizations with invoices.
• Office assistance, including, but not limited to, answering
phones, preparing letters and mailings, faxing, photocopying,
computer entry, and filing.
• Other duties as assigned by the Recreation Director or Assistant
Director.
Ability to:
• Verbally communicate effectively
using the English language.
• Effectively communicate using the written English language.
• Respond to resident, co-worker, and elected officials’ inquiries
in a professional and courteous manner.
• Take fees by cash, checks, and credit cards, and process daily
transactions.
• Utilize office equipment, including personal computers, the phone
system, photocopier, and fax machine.

FINANCE CLERK —PART TIME
The Village of Palos Park, population approximately 4,847, a
progressive, full-service community with a high quality of life, is
accepting applications for the position of Finance Clerk. The position
works under the direct supervision of the Finance Director. The Finance
Clerk is primarily responsible for completing many of the daily tasks of
the Finance Department; as well as, posting of cash receipts, accounts
receivables, and payroll to ensure accuracy and accountability. An
associate’s degree in business/accounting is preferred, with a minimum
of one year accounting experience is required. Must have demonstrable
knowledge of GAAP and extensive computer skills. Experience with
financial software systems in accounting and payroll, are a must. Must
have excellent communication skills, highly organized, and be a
proactive problem-solver. This is a part-time position, and must be able

Recreation Center Program Instructors
The Recreation Department is searching for energetic instructors who can
take lead roles to teach youth in tennis, basketball, t-ball, soccer,
dance, poms, cheerleading and more. If you can lead children and have a
background in sports this job is for you.
Hours: Vary
Fee Range: $8.25 - $12 depending on your skills

Recreation Center Umpires and
Referees for Youth Recreational Sports
The Recreation Center is looking for umpires and referees to
officiate youth recreational sports. Interested parties must fulfill
the job requirements attached and be 18 years and older.
Hours: evenings and weekends
Fee Range: $8.25 per hour - $20 per game
